The Horror Show at Extreme Rules | Review-ish

Hi and welcome back to the blog, It's time to talk about the Horror Show at Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View.

Kick off Show Match
Usual comment from me really, I did not watch this match because I tend to miss Kick Off shows but if you're interested to know the result, here it is. Kevin Owens defeated Murphy.

Main Card
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match - Tables Match
The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura
This was your standard tag team tables match, nothing special to be honest with you. Cesaro putting Kofi through the tables to get the win was quality. The tag team division on SmackDown needed refreshing starting with new tag team champions being crowned, so it really is a new day (pun intended) in regards to New Day themselves, they do not need the tag belts anymore because we already know how good they are. Winners: and NEW SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Bayley vs. Nikki Cross
Going in to this match, we all knew who was going to win, I was really impressed by Nikki Cross's performance, It was a reflection back to her NXT days, Bayley won with an assist from Sasha. Winner: and still SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley.

MVP defeated Apollo Crews by forfeit.

Eye for an Eye
Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio
Disclaimer: What I am about to say about this match, will probably come across as harsh, I mean no offence to the participants involved.
I, like many thought that this match would be cinematic but I guess plans changed. Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the stipulation, you can only win if you extract your opponents eye from their socket? the finish was stupid and watching this match is part of many examples where I felt embarrassed being a wrestling fan. I'm probably watching this way too seriously as a fan but my name isn't "Mark" or "Stan" so I'll say no more for this. "Winner" Seth Rollins.

Raw Women's Championship Match
Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks
This was my pick for match of the night and it was heading that way until the ending of the match, where the referee suffered a bump, leading to Bayley putting on the referee's shirt to count the pin for Sasha. By the way, Sasha is not the official champion. this move was only done to get people interested in tuning into RAW to see what happens with the RAW Women's Championship.

WWE Championship Match
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph announced that the stipulation was an Extreme Rules Match which only applied to himself. McIntyre could only win via normal match settings. which the Scot was successful in doing so. Winner: and still WWE Champion. Drew McIntyre. There's an RKO heading towards Claymore Country soon.

Wyatt Swamp Fight
Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt.
Fun main event, it was cool to see classic Bray here, as well as hearing the Wyatt Family theme before Wyatt talked to Braun, who was chained to a chair. The standout scene for me in this fight was an appearance by Alexa Bliss, which included flashbacks to when her and Braun Strowman teamed up in the Mixed Match Challenge and so on. I hope they talk about why Alexa was involved in this fight on the next episode of SmackDown as part of storyline continuity. The ending of the fight was Bray dragging Braun into the Swamp and then the water turned red and then "The Fiend" appeared thus ending the show.

That is it for the review-ish, some of my comments were probably harsh but it is what it is. I've enjoyed writing predictions and reviews again. I hope you enjoyed reading this one. SummerSlam is next month, I'll be back for the predictions in the days leading up to that event. Until then. Thanks for reading.

The Horror Show at Extreme Rules | Predictions

Hi and welcome back to the blog, It's been a while since I last posted but I'm back again with more content. If you want to catch up on my previous reviews, then feel free to do so, let's talk about The Horror Show at Extreme Rules. I've always thought the Horror Show was called Monday Night RAW. I'm only joking.

This event was previously scheduled to take place in San Jose, California, however, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this event will follow suit with previous events and take place at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It's predictions time for the scheduled matches. Here we go!

SmackDown Tag Team Championship - Tables Match
The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura.
Spoiler Alert: This match was made after Cesaro defeated Big E on SmackDown and the challengers named the stipulation backstage. In regards to who is winning on Sunday, here is my prediction. Predicted Winners: and still SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The New Day.

United States Championship Match
Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP
MVP unveiled the new look United States Championship on a past episode of RAW, at first glance the title looked terrible, not sure if it was to do with the way the camera was placed on the title, however, it looks like a decent title to me now, continuing with MVP, he has been acting like he is the champion, my prediction for Sunday is that even with Bobby Lashley in his corner, the challenger will be unsuccessful in the match. Predicted Winner: and still United States Champion. Apollo Crews.

Eye for an Eye Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins
This match is obviously going to be cinematic with some CGI type imagery added to it also, Rollins has already "injured" Rey's eye on RAW and I believe the "Messiah" will complete the set and then face Dominic in the future. Predicted Winner: Seth Rollins.

Wyatt Swamp Fight
Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt
The following contest is a non title match, because of that factor, I expect Braun to win against the "Wyatt Family" version of Bray here after previously defeating "Funhouse" Bray at Money in the Bank. "The Fiend" awaits! Let Him In! Predicted Winner: Braun Strowman.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross
It's great to see Nikki get an opportunity for the SmackDown Women's Championship, however, she will not win the match considering who we all expect the Champion to face next month. Predicted Winner: and still SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley.

RAW Women's Championship Match
Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks
The person we all expect Bayley to face next is Sasha. The Boss takes on Asuka here which, for me, is the match of the night. These two are amazing wrestlers and they will deliver in the ring on Sunday. It's a difficult prediction to make, I think Sasha will lose here, get frustrated and upset, the friendship with Bayley on screen will start to crumble resulting in losing the tag team championships which sets up Sasha and Bayley at SummerSlam. Book it!
Predicted Winner: and still RAW Women's Champion. Asuka.

WWE Championship Match
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
I've always thought Dolph is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the company, his work in the ring is top quality, he just hasn't been used properly by the creative team, I believe he will carry on his great work against Drew despite it being in a losing effort before the champion goes on to face Randy Orton next month, in the words of Paul Heyman, that's not a prediction, thats a spoiler. Predicted Winner: and still WWE Champion. Drew McIntyre.

That is for the predictions, there may be other matches announced via Twitter, enjoy Extreme Rules (if you're watching) I'll be back with the review-ish on Monday afternoon. Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend.
