WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 | Review-ish

Hi and welcome back to the blog. The twelfth Hell in Cell pay-per-view in event history took place at the Amway Centre in Orlando, Florida. also known as the ThunderDome. Let's begin the review-ish.

Kick Off Show Match
R-Truth defeated Drew Gulak to remain 24/7 Champion

Main Card
"I Quit" Hell in a Cell Match for the Universal Championship
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
I was surprised to see that this match went on first, It had the same vibe as their previous match, what I mean by this is, Roman was talking "trash" to his cousin and dominated the bout early on, Jey to his credit did not quit and fought back, towards the end of the match, Roman was relentless in his attack on Uso until officials ran out in an attempt to stop the champion which backfired, just when Roman was about to hit Jey with the steel steps, Jimmy ran out to save his brother, Jimmy pleaded Roman to stop, who then started to become emotional, Roman lowered the boom and applied the guillotine on Jimmy which forced Jey to say "I Quit"
Winner: and still Universal Champion. Roman Reigns.

After the match, as Reigns was walking up the ramp, we saw Afa and Sika, who congratulated "The Tribal Cheif" as the Uso's looked on..

Jeff Hardy vs. Elias
Jeff got some payback on Elias by hitting him with the guitar, this feud will most likely continue.
Winner: by disqualification. Elias.

Money in the Bank Match
Otis w/Tucker vs. The Miz w/John Morrison
During the contest, John Morrison tried to hit Otis with the briefcase, however, the referee caught him and sent him to the back. While the referee was distracted by the ring apron, Tucker hit Otis with the case, resulting in Miz picking the win. Winner: The Miz.

Backstage, both Miz and Tucker cut fantastic promos, Otis went after Tucker, Survivor Series is coming up on the events calendar. It's RAW vs. SmackDown so there's a possibility that the members of the tag team formerly known as Heavy Machinery could face each other then. We'll wait and see of course. Also, it's interesting to note that it's coming up to ten years since Miz cashed in the Money in the Bank to win his first WWE Championship on RAW. Randy Orton was champion at the time, could lightning strike twice?

SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks
Bayley carried a steel chair on route to the ring, however, her opponent kicked the chair away, just as the cell was lowered to the floor. in this match we saw, chairs, kendo sticks, ladders and tables. Sasha hit multiple Meteora's (I believe that is the correct spelling for the move) on Bayley including a great one when the champion was on the table. Bayley made a mistake towards the end of the match, as I predicted, and Sasha capitalised, she won the match after Bayley tapped out. the 380 day reign is over and it's "Boss Time" now. Winner: and NEW SmackDown Women's Champion. Sasha Banks.

United States Championship Match
Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Slapjack
Thi match was made after Mustafa Ali challenged The Hurt Business on the Kick Off Show. The challenge was later accepted as you can see. Lashley made light work of Slapjack. Winner: and still United States Champion. Bobby Lashley.

WWE Championship Match
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton

Randy, who was disguised as a cameraman, attempted to attack Drew, but that was shortlived as the Scot turned things around quickly. Orton cut off the chain from the door, which led to the guys climbing the cell, Orton hit McIntyre with a lead pipe, they continued the fight whilst climbing down back down, you could tell that someone was about to fall through the announce table and it was Drew who suffered the fate, back in the cell, Drew avoided the RKO but missed Orton with a Claymore Kick, "The Viper" finally managed to hit the RKO for the win and Championship. Winner: and NEW WWE Champion. Randy Orton.

Hell in a Cell is now in the books, I usually don't rate events, however, I'll give this one a 6.5 out 10. If it were up to me? I would've booked the "I Quit" match to go on last or the SmackDown Women's Championship match instead, it is what it is. I'm interested to know what you thought about the event as a whole. Survivor Series is up coming up as I mentioned before. I will be back for the predictions, until then, thanks for reading.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 | Predictions

It's October which means only one thing, it's time for Hell in a Cell. Let's not waste any time and get started with the match predictions (in no particular order) Here we go!

Match Card
Money in the Bank Match
Otis vs. The Miz
The "A-lister" has been plotting how to get the Money in the Bank Contract away from Otis for a long time now, Miz has somehow had the power to have Mandy Rose traded over to RAW along with splitting up Heavy Machinery, resulting in Tucker being drafted to Monday Nights also, fast forward to the last episode of SmackDown, these two participants faced each other in court, the judge was JBL (John Bradshaw Layfield for those who don't know) who, after being paid off by Miz, ruled that this match was to take place at Hell in a Cell for the contract, there have been rumors in the past of the creative team trying to figure out ways to remove the briefcase from the current holder, this is obviously the "solution" they have. I have an interesting scenario, which is Tucker possibly costing Otis the match and the contract, will that happen? we shall see. I have made my choice. Predicted Winner: Otis.

Jeff Hardy vs. Elias
Elias returned to WWE TV on RAW and attacked Jeff Hardy a couple of weeks ago after spending time on the sidelines, Elias blamed Hardy for the incident which occurred on SmackDown a few months ago, will this match be on the kick-off show? time will tell, in regards to the winner? here is my pick. Predicted Winner: Jeff Hardy.

WWE Championship Match
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton
With all due respect to these guys in the match, It's been a nice rivalry for the Championship, however, I am ready for Drew & Randy to move on to different opponents. I believe I have mentioned this on the blog before when I say there have been rumours of Orton defending the title against Edge at WrestleMania next year. If the "Viper" wins here then the 'Mania match is probably going to happen. I say probably because of the old saying "card subject to change"  will we see chaos towards the end of this match thanks to interference from "RETRIBUTION"? who, to be honest, are probably finished due to bad booking. When all is said and done, I expect the Scot to win here and go on to face either Bray Wyatt or Sheamus. Predicted Winner: and still WWE Champion. Drew McIntyre.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks
This is another example of when great friends become great rivals, I love that element to this storyline, I believe this will be an excellent match for sure, I would expect to see Bayley attempt to win this one quickly by going after Sasha's recently "injured" neck, whereas Sasha will obviously do her best to avoid that from happening, to me this match will go down to who makes the fatal mistake in the closing moments, after much consideration, the mistake will be made by Bayley, who will then tap out. Predicted Winner: and NEW SmackDown Women's Champion. Sasha Banks.

"I Quit" Hell in a Cell Match for the Universal Championship
Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso
This match is history making, it is the first ever "I Quit" match taking place in Hell in a Cell. Roman is now the best heel in the company by far, whereas Jey is continuing to make moves as a singles competitor, it's nice to see, Jimmy returned to SmackDown on the go home episode (spoiler for anyone who has not seen it) This match is like a sequel to the movie/match we saw at Clash of Champions, A scenario of Jimmy turning against his brother by forcing Jey to say "I Quit" and then alligning with "The Tribal Chief" at the end of the show would be great. Predicted Winner: and still Universal Champion. Roman Reigns.

At the time of writing this, there are five matches on the card, I expect more to be announced on social media. The Hell in a Cell review-ish will be available on Monday. Thanks for reading.

Fourth Round
Sami Zayn - Intercontinental Champion
Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura
Fifth Round
Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
Apollo Crews
Sixth Round
Carmella
Aleister Black

Looking at the draft results above, there aren't many surprsing picks, if at all. Sheamus moving to Monday's makes me think he will be facing Drew soon. whether it is for the title or not, I'm not sure. The Street Profits predictably are changing shows with New Day, resuming their story with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura, you can probably include Ziggler and Roode in the tag title picture also, it's also interesting that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are on the same brand again, perhaps a future program for the Intercontinental Championship is in the works? Apollo Crews on SmackDown is a good thing especially because that brings his long feud with the Hurt Business to an end. Finally. Other draft picks were revealed on Talking Smack, RAW Talk and social media, check them out if you are interested in doing so. Hell in a Cell is next on the Pay-Per-View calendar, my work here is done for now, I'll be back next time to predict the matches for said event. Until then, take care and thanks for reading.

WWE Draft 2020 | Night 1 Results & Reaction

Second Round

AJ Styles

SmackDown Draft Picks

First Round
Roman Reigns - Universal Champion
Seth Rollins
Second Round
Sasha Banks
Bianca Belair

Third Round
Jey Uso
Rey & Dominik Mysterio

Fourth Round

Big E
Otis - Mr. Money in the Bank

It certainly was an interesting first night of the draft, as you can see by the results, AJ Styles moving to RAW is a phenomenal loss to the blue brand but a great gain for the red, Naomi needed a fresh start because she wasn't really doing much, so switching shows may be a good thing for her, if I was in creative, I would instantly make her a challenger for the RAW Women's Championship. I'll be honest with you when I say, when Seth Rollins was drafted to SmackDown, I was happy about that because to me, that meant the storyline with Rey & Dominik was finally over, but no, Rey & Dominik were later drafted to the same show was the "Messiah" I should've seen that happening.

Speaking of feuds continiung, Miz and Morrison were drafted to RAW to continue their story with Mandy Rose, I predict Otis will make a "surprise" appearance on RAW during the build up to Survivor Series. Bianca Belair drafted to SmackDown means that the RAW Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits will be drafted to the same show as her on Monday (spoiler alert) Having said all of this, the biggest story of the night was, without a doubt, The New Day's Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods defeating Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Big E joined in with the celebrations, however, their celebrations were short lived as Kofi and Xavier were drafted to RAW and Big E to SmackDown. They will have thier "farewell" match on Friday, is this REALLY the end of the New Day? or is there a plot twist? If this is the end of the team, then Kofi has a ready made feud with Mustafa Ali after Ali tweeted "Hello. Kofi" remember that Ali suffered an unfortunate injury prior to the 2019 Elimination Chamber and Kofi was his replacement, we all know what happened from there. Looking forward to seeing what happens on Night Two of the draft. I'll be back on Tuesday with the reaction. Thanks for reading.
