WWE Crown Jewel 2019 | Review

WWE Crown Jewel is now in the archives. Here are the match results along with my thoughts of the event. Enjoy.

Kick off Match
20-man battle royal for a United States championship title opportunity
Winner: Humberto Carrillo.

Main Card
WWE Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Cain Velasquez
This had a UFC feel to it. This match didn't last long. Winner: AND STILL WWE Champion. Brock Lesnar. After the match, Rey hit Brock with chair shots. More on this at the end of the review.

Tag Team Turmoil for the WWE World Cup: Winners: The OC. Hopefully this win for The OC will set them up for a RAW tag title match vs Viking Raiders.

Mansoor vs. Cesaro.
This was always going to be a win for for the local guy Mansoor. The way the crowd reacted was nice to see as well. Winner: Mansoor.

Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury
Tyson was impressive, he put on a very good performance for his first WWE match. Like I said, there was no way he was losing here: Winner: Tyson Fury by Countout.

United States Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo
Decent match, no new champion crowned. Very predictable. I'll say no more. Winner: AND STILL United States Champion. AJ Styles.

Natalya vs. Lacey Evans
History was made as these two competitors competed in the first ever women's wrestling match in Saudi Arabia. Great to see. Winner: Natalya.

Team Hogan: Roman Reigns, Ricochet, Rusev, Ali & Shorty G vs. Team Flair: Randy Orton, King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre
I did not watch this match because I didn't care about it. Why should I? This isn't Survivor Series. That's in a few weeks time. Winners: Team Hogan.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. "The Fiend' Bray Wyatt (Falls Count Anywhere) Match Cannot Be Stopped For Any Reason
Here at Crown Jewel, they did what they should've done at Hell in a Cell. And that is, to crown a new Universal Champion. Winner: AND NEW! Universal Champion! "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.

Technically, the match is still going on because a pinfall isn't a reason to stop the match right? I'm just joking. or am I? Anyway...I hated that they had Seth hit stomp after stomp, similar to his matches with Brock and Bray. He's getting booed when talking and while he's having matches. Just turn this guy heel already. As long as he doesn't join another faction.

In my opinion, they've only put the title on "The Fiend" because it's October 31st.
!!!!Happy Halloween!!!!
Merchandise sales for Bray/"The Fiend" will go through the roof after this title win. 100% guaranteed.

So now we have a SmackDown guy who is now a RAW title holder. I mentioned Rey earlier, he is on RAW. I see a scenario where they have Brock get traded from SmackDown to RAW bringing the WWE title to feud with Rey, with Bray having the Universal title on Friday nights, if that makes sense. They'll obviously have to change the colour of the Universal title from red to blue or something like that.

That's it for the review, this was a 6 out of 10 show. See you for the Survivor Series predictions. Thanks for reading.

WWE Crown Jewel 2019 | Preview

WWE Crown Jewel will be LIVE from Saudi Arabia on Thursday. Originally, I wasn't going to preview and review this show, however, things change. WWE are trying to hype this show up to be like WrestleMania right? I'm going to do the same. Just kidding. We all know this is a glorified house show. Let's get started with the match predictions.

Mansoor vs. Cesaro This match is set up for the local guy, Mansoor to get the win, which, I'm sure the crowd will enjoy. Cesaro is one of the most underrated guys in the company, he will make Mansoor look like a million dollars. Predicted Winner: Mansoor.

Tag Team Turmoil for the WWE World Cup: New Day, The Viking Raiders, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, The Revival, The O.C., Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode and The B-Team are all participants in this match. I have no idea who is going to win this match. It should be fun to watch though.

20-man battle royal for a United States championship title opportunity:
Predicted Winner: Humberto Carrillo or Cedric Alexander.

United States Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo OR Cedric Alexander. Whether it's Humberto, Cedric or anyone else challenging for the title, There will not be a new champion here. Predicted Winner: AND STILL United States Champion: AJ Styles.

Team Hogan: Roman Reigns, Ricochet, Rusev, Ali & Shorty G vs. Team Flair: Randy Orton, King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre:
Predicted Winners: Team Flair. Mainly because, Team Hogan won a 6 man tag match (playa) on Friday Night SmackDown.

Braun Strowman vs. Tyson Fury
There is absolutely no way Tyson is losing this match. WWE do not bring in celebrities/athletes for a one off match just to lose. I'm interested to seeing how Tyson performs in the ring. If he impresses then I see another future match for him in WWE after he calls it a day in his boxing career. Predicted Winner: Tyson Fury.

WWE Championship Match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Cain Velasquez
I like that they have continued the rivalry from when these guys fought in the UFC against each other all those years ago. Much like the US title match, I see no new champion crowned here. Winner: AND STILL WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. "The Fiend' Bray Wyatt (Falls Count Anywhere) Match Cannot Be Stopped For Any Reason. I don't see a new champion crowned here because Seth was drafted to Raw and Bray was drafted to SmackDown. Predicted Winner: AND STILL Universal Champion: Seth Rollins.

That is it for the predictions. I'll be back for the review. Thanks for reading.

Other News
Prior to the draft, it was announced on social media that Tyson Fury will face Braun Strowman at WWE Crown Jewel, on October 31 in Saudi Arabia. I'm very interested to see how this story is played out on tv, leading up to the match. Tyson is a great talker, will his wrestling skills match up to that level? We will see. Nevertheless I have a prediction that Tyson will be winning this match. Like Paul Heyman says. That's not a prediction. That's a spoiler! Speaking of Heyman, it was also announced that Brock will defend the WWE title at Crown Jewel vs. Cain Velasquez.

Hell in a Cell 2019 | Thoughts

Welcome back to the blog, Hell in a Cell is now in the archives. Here are my thoughts about the matches I predicted previously.

Hell in a Cell - Raw Women's Championship Match.
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks.
This was a fantastic show opener, both competitors bought the fight to each other using weapons and attempting their submission holds, but in the end, it was "The Man" that prevailed. Winner: AND STILL Raw Women's Champion. Becky Lynch.

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.
This was an unexpected fun match, what made it even better was the Tornado Tag rule. Winners: Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. I thought for sure that Bryan was going to turn heel and align with Rowan and Harper here. It might happen on Friday on SmackDown if Bryan doesn't get drafted to Raw. We will found out.

SmackDown Women's Championship Match. Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair.
I didn't expect a title change here as I thought Bayley was going to win. Towards the end of the match, Bayley attempted to cheat by putting her feet on the ropes during the pinfall attempt but the referee saw it just in time. Charlotte made Bayley tap out via the figure 8. Winner: AND NEW SmackDown Women's Champion! Charlotte Flair.

Hell in a Cell - WWE Universal Championship Match.
Seth Rollins (c) vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.
I loved the dark red lighting during the match, it had Attitude Era Kane vibes about it when he debuted at Badd Blood all those years ago. Seth was trying his best to take down Wyatt with weapons but it didn't phase "The Fiend" now this is where things got annoying because of the amount of times the champion hit his opponent with stomps. Wyatt was down, he was covered with weapons, just as Seth was about to hit Wyatt with the sledgehammer, the referee attempted to put a stop to this, which he failed to do so as Rollins hit his opponent with the hammer resulting in a DQ/No Contest. The crowd sh*t on this. They wanted "The Fiend" to win. I did a preliminary prediction for this match which was a DQ finish. I then thought, why would they book a finish like that? They're in a cell! The cell itself can be used a weapon also. What a load of trash. Poor booking.

There were AEW, Bullsh*t and restart the match chants. The boos were loud. This was reminiscent of the times where Ryback and Braun Strowman were over with the crowd. Until the momentum ended, coincidentally, in Hell in a Cell. Can you believe we've had two years in a row of Hell in a Cell main events where it ended in a DQ/No Contest? That's ridiculous right there. I'm going to go on record right now and say that the Hell in a Cell pay per view needs to be scrapped from the schedule permanently. Like I said, the crowd booed the finish loudly, it'll be interesting to see and hear the reaction from the crowd on Raw.

Three shows, Raw, SmackDown and Hell in a Cell all started off great and ended terrible. What a bad week of programming in WWE. Thanks for reading.

Hell in a Cell | Predictions

It's now time for the Hell in a Cell predictions. Here we go!

SmackDown Women's Championship Match. Bayley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair.
Prediction: Winner: AND STILL SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley.

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan to turn on Roman to lose the match and reveal he was the mastermind behind Roman getting attacked, and align with Rowan and Harper. Winners: Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.

Raw Women's Championship Match. Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks.
Prediction: It's time for Sasha to win here. Becky would make a great challenger. Winner: AND NEW Raw Women's Champion. Sasha Banks.

WWE Universal Championship Match. Seth Rollins (c) vs. Bray Wyatt. Prediction: This was a tough one to call, If Seth won, it would have to be due to an interruption by Braun attacking Bray as payback for a couple of weeks ago. Here is my final prediction. Winner: AND NEW Universal Champion. Bray Wyatt.

There you have it, my predictions are complete. Disclamier: At the time of writing this, these were the only matches announced for the show. I'm sure more will announced prior to the show. After the show is done, the matches predicted above will be the only ones I talk about. Thanks for reading. See you for the review.

Friday Night SmackDown | Thoughts

Hi and welcome to the Friday Night SmackDown review. A lot to talk about so let's not waste anymore time. Here we go!

A new stage was unveiled for the show and it reminded me of the 2000-2001 Attitude Era.

We started off with a in ring segment with King Baron Corbin, "The Man" Becky Lynch and The Rock. Resulting in the Rock and Becky beating up Corbin to end the segment, leading to the first match of the night.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks
Winners: Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

There was a backstage interview with ya boys: THE NEW DAY! to hype up the WWE title match later in the show.

Seth Rollins was seen heading to the ring to face Shinsuke Nakamura, this was not advertised prior to the show, Seth was in the ring when we got another episode of the Firefly Funhouse. More mind games from Bray leading up to Hell in a Cell.

Rollins vs. Nakamura never ended with a winner as The Fiend attacked Rollins yet again, this time on the entrance way and throwing him off the stage.

Disclaimer: There were a lot of montages throughout the show. Apologies if it seems like I've skipped through some important segments etc.

Ladder Match: Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon the stipulation of the match was the loser of this match will be “terminated from WWE” meaning they will be fired.
Winner: Kevin Owens.

Shane is fired. (Until he comes back before Survivor Series or something) this storyline is finally over, Note that The Miz never got his win back from Shane. Perhaps they'll incorporate that reason for if or when Miz and KO have a match or three later down the line.

It was Paul Heyman's turn to hype up the main event. This was something we've seen and heard before so let's move on.

Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler were defeated by Braun Strowman, The Miz, Otis and Tucker.
During this match we saw a interaction between Strowman and boxer Tyson Fury. There's one match potentially booked for Wrestlemania next year.

American DJ Marshmello won the 24/7 championship on the show, Carmella later won it back.

It was Lumberjack match time. Erick Rowan vs. Roman Reigns
Winner: Roman Reigns.

Here we go! Main Event time!
WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston vs. Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman)
Winner: AND NEW WWE Champion! Brock Lesnar.
Kofi didn't get any offence and Brock picked him up for an F5 for the win. I can't believe WWE booked Kofi like that. The fans reaction to this has been incredible and rightfully so. Five seconds that match lasted. Disgraceful. Kofi had an amazing run as champion. It's a damn shame it ended like that. I thought Kofi was going to somehow win this match with help from Rey and New Day in some fashion. It wasn't to be. As Randy Orton would say. This was stupid, stupid, stupid.

After the match, Brock was interrupted by Rey and former UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez. Cain took down and punched Brock until the new champion retreated to end the show. I'm lost for words. I'm going to end the review here. Thanks for reading.

The Season Premiere of Monday Night Raw | Thoughts

It was the season premiere of MONDAY NIGHT RAW. New theme, new set and PYRO was back! There was also a new commentary team alongside Jerry Lawlor.

It started off with Rey walking out to hype his match with Rollins for the bubblegum title later before he was interrupted by Brock and Paul Heyman. Who then proceeded to beat up Rey and went after his son, Dominic. The Beast took him out also to send a message to Kofi before their match on Friday Night SmackDown.

The first of the match was Sasha v Alexa. The Boss picked up the win by randomly distracting Alexa. After this, Becky got on the mic to hype up her and Sasha's match at Hell in a Cell. The second match was a tag team match (playa) Heavy Machinery vs. Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode. Winners: Dolph and Roode.

We had a Miz TV segment. Special Guests: Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. I was hoping the Fiend would take out Hogan and Flair. That would've been AWESOME! (no pun intended) there was a confrontation of sorts between the two Hall of Famers. I got scared when the crowd chanted one more match. Ain't nobody got time for that! For a second there I thought Miz was about to announce that. He instead announced that there will be a Team Hogan vs Team Flair 5 vs 5 match at the Saudi Arabia show on October 31. As it stands, it looks like its Orton and Corbin in Team Flair and Rollins and Rusev in Team Hogan.

Backstage. Rusev challenged Rollins for the title since Rey was unable to compete.

It was tag team match time again playas. resulting in Viking Raiders defeating The OC. Moving swiftly on here. Ricochet defeated Cesaro in a quick fast paced match via the West Coast Pop. Following this was the Firefly Funhouse. It appears that Ramblin Rabbit is no more, they'll probably bring him back next week like Kenny from South Park. This episode of the Funhouse was nothing special, it was obvious Bray was teasing an appearance for later.

Back to the in-ring action. AJ defeated Cedric Alexander. It looks like Cedric's push is now over after taking another L.Before the main event. Lacey defeated Natalya. Hopefully this was the last match between these two and they get drafted to separate brands.

A White limo entered the parking lot before Raw went to commercial.

Main Event. Seth Rollins put his title on the line vs. Rusev. Rusev was in control of this match before Bobby Lashley's music hit and Rusev just stood there. What is it about people in the ring just freezing whenever someone's music hits. It's been going on for many years and it's still stupid. Anyway. It looked like Lashley was sending for someone and that someone turned out to be Rusev's wife Lana. Lana and Lashley kissed and Rusev just stood there as a dumb babyface. If WWE went for shock value? They FAILED! This was so ridiculous. It also seems to me that they are trying to revive the failed Lana/Dolph storyline. The Fiend then took out Rollins to end the show.

If this was the season premiere of Raw. I can't wait for the season finale. What started off great then dramatically fizzled out. What a dumb ending to the main event. I need to stop watching Raw LIVE on a weekly basis. I'm looking forward to SmackDown on Friday Night (Saturday morning here in the UK) I hope we get a Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in ring segment. OH HELL YEAH! Considering what happened earlier, the WWE title match between Brock and Kofi throws up some interesting scenarios. Will Rey cost Brock the title to get revenge for his son Dominic? Could Rey get drafted to SmackDown and challenge Brock for the title (if Brock wins) we will all find out in a few days time.

I haven't written in a while so it's good to be back. Thanks for reading.
