SummerSlam Review-ish
Big E managed to get back his Money In The Bank briefcase after his match against Corbin, there was thought that he would be involved in the show later on, spoiler alert, he was not. Riddle and Orton continued their great momentum by capturing the tag titles from AJ and Omos, in all fairness, it was a standard match.
Alexa vs. Eva was a waste of time, fingers crossed this is the end of this feud between the two, in terms of character, it is time for Alexa to go back to her old self, the playground gimmick is not working without the Fiend, which is not her fault, it is simply another creative booking error that we have seen.
Congratulations to The Archer of Infamy, Damian Priest on winning his first championship on the main roster, get ready for the rematch against Sheamus next month at Extreme Rules. The Uso's are still our SmackDown Tag Team Champions after a another damn good match against the Mysterios, who seem like they will be in a story of their own, sign me up for a Usos vs. Street Profits match or three, we want to see it, well some of us do anyway.
Prior to the event, there were rumblings of the scheduled SmackDown Women's Championship match being regarded as, subject to change, which proved to be true. While it was great to see Becky return, taking the title from Bianca this way was horrible, at least build it for a pay per view or an important SmackDown show, if you want to do the change then fine, this was reminiscent of Brock vs. Kofi for sure.
With all due respect to Drew and Jinder, not much attention was paid here, due to the way the match before this one played out. Charlotte added to her collection of titles in Vegas by winning the triple threat, another match between these three participants at Extreme Rules is a possibility. Edge walked out to the Brood music prior to his match with Seth, great to see some nostalgia on the show, bringing back memories of the Attitude Era. He and Seth left everything in the ring, the thousands in attendance appreciated what they saw.
Lashley vs. Goldberg ended abruptly, is this feud over? probably not, there may be developments on Monday Night RAW. Roman is still the Universal Champion, acknowledge that, after he defeated John Cena in a highly competitive main event, there were close near falls here, where it seemed as though Cena was about to win, thankfully the correct the right decision was made in order to keep Reign's run going.
Brock Lesnar's music hit and he walked out to a fantastic reception, the commentary team really sold how important this was, very much looking to seeing Roman vs. Brock, the intriguing factor here will be Paul Heyman, who was The Beast's client in the past. now part of Roman's stable of course.
