RAW NXT & SmackDown Recap #2

Hi and welcome back to the blog. It's now time to recap this past weeks RAW NXT & SmackDown shows. Starting with RAW of course.

In the opening match of the show, Asuka defeated Liv Morgan. They recapped the RAW Women's Championship Match from WrestleMania between Becky Lynch & Shayna Baszler along with Lynch's post match interview and comments from Baszler. This feud isn't over yet.

Up next was a WrestleMania rematch. Street Profits defending their RAW Tag Team Championships against Angel Garza & Austin Theory. The Street Profits remained the tag champions by DQ after Zelina Vega got involved, it was deja vu from Sunday night, because when Vega Garza and Theory were about to beat up Dawkins & Ford, Bianca Belair got involved to even things up and challenged Zelina Vega to a match.

The match was official between Bianca Belair & Zelina Vega and this ended up with no winner, and then a six person tag match was made. The Street Profits & Bianca Belair vs. Austin Theory, Angel Garza & Zelina Vega. The winners of the match were The Street Profits & Bianca Belair.

Here's a prediction for you. Look out for a heel turn by The Street Profits in the near future. We know Bianca is already heel anyway. When that turn happens then nobody will want the smoke.

Aleister Black defeated Apollo Crews. Apollo returned to RAW after his draft pick on SmackDown expired. I didn't know draft picks could expire.

They recapped the Last Man Standing match between Edge and Randy Orton. I think the match is still going on as I'm writing this.

Cedric Alexander & Ricochet defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.

Seth Rollins defeated Denzel Dejournette.

"The irresistible force" Nia Jax returned to in ring competition after a year out with injury, she defeated Deonna Purrazzo. Its good to see Nia on WWE TV again as she will be a threat to Becky Lynch's Championship.

They recapped the much talked about the AJ Styles vs. Undertaker Boneyard match from Saturday night. You already know my thoughts on that.

Humberto Carrillo defeated Brendan Vink.

After recaps of the NXT Women's and WWE Championship matches respectively, they showed footage of what happened to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania . Which was, while he was being interviewed in the ring, he was interrupted by The Big Show who bought out a referee, they talked some smack to each other and this turned out to be a match for the WWE Championship. Drew successfully defended his championship against Big Show, who technically headlined WrestleMania this year. This is how this weeks episode of Monday Night RAW ended.

Moving on to NXT.

The show began with a six women ladder match to become number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship currently held by Charlotte Flair.
Io Shirai vs. Tegan Nox vs. Chelsea Green vs. Mia Yim vs. Dakota Kai vs. Candice LaRae.
The winner of the match was Io Shirai.

They showed footage from NXT TV from months ago where Imperium took out Finn Balor as well as Balors match against Alexander Wolfe that took place on NXT UK. It looks like Balor vs. Walter for the NXT UK Championship will be happening soon.

The tag team that took out Matt Riddle, Indus Sher made their NXT debut, defeating Ever Rise.

They showed a promo from Adam Cole talking about Velveteen Dream as well as a video package from the Rhea vs. Charlotte match from WrestleMania.

The main event next was the match billed as "Black Heart vs. Rebel Heart - One Final Beat" Tomasso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano. The winner of the match was Johnny Gargano.

We got another "cinematic" match without the commentary, this was a nice way to end the feud. I hope we don't see anymore "cinematic" matches, because they already feel played out at this moment in time as we've seen three of them in one week. It looks like they're building to a Killer Kross & Scarlett Bordeaux vs. Johnny Gargano & Candice LaRae feud. What next for Ciampa? I guess we'll find out soon.

SmackDown began with a recap from WrestleMania (yes, another recap, there's been so many I've lost count) this time from the Goldberg vs. Strowman match. The new Universal champion Braun Strowman talked about the match until he was interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura, they will face each other later in the show.

The first match was a WrestleMania Rematch where Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss successfully defended their Tag Titles against Asuka & Kairi Sane.

Elias sang a song about his win against Baron Corbin from last weekend. Recap-a-Mania continued. This time with the Otis & Mandy Rose story.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Tucker.

In the "Dirt Sheet" segment. The Miz & John Morrison talked about events at WrestleMania. They were interrupted by The Usos & New Day. It was revealed that it will be Jey Uso vs. The  Miz vs. Big E in a triple threat match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Looking forward to that next week. No predictions from me because it's not a PPV match.

The Forgotten Sons made their main roster debut from NXT defeating Lucha Houseparty.

Dana Brooke & Carmella challenged Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for the Tag Titles. The champions accepted. Whatever happened to people actually earning title opportunities? I guess that doesn't exist these days.

Sasha Banks & Bayley talked about the five way elimination match at WrestleMania, they were interrupted by Tamina who challenged Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Bayley said Tamina would have to defeat Sasha first. Sasha didn't look happy about that. Tamina vs. Sasha Banks appears to be set for next week on SmackDown.

Sheamus defeated Cal Bloom.

In the main event. Braun Strowman defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and then we saw a new episode of The Firefly Funhouse. It looks we will be seeing Strowman vs. Wyatt for the Universal Championship at Money in the Bank.

That is it for the recap of RAW NXT & SmackDown. It's been a fun week. Until next time, Be well, stay safe & stay at home. Thanks for reading.
