WrestleMania 36 | Review-ish

Hi and welcome back to the blog. WrestleMania 36 took place over the weekend and here are all of the match results, including my thoughts for both nights.

WrestleMania Night One Results

Kick off show match
Cesaro defeated Drew Gulak

Main Card
WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match
Asuka & Kairi Sane (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.
I had a sense that we would see new Women's Tag Team Champions and that proved to be the case. Winners: AND NEW Women's Tag Team Champions. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.

Elias vs. Baron Corbin
I didn't watch this match so I won't comment. Let's move on.
Winner: Elias.

RAW Women's Championship Match
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
I was expecting Shayna to become champion here but that didn't happen, perhaps they're saving a return for Ronda Rousey to take the title from Becky.
Winner: And STILL RAW Women's Champion. Becky Lynch.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
The finish of this match felt rushed,  It'll be interesting to see where the Bryan Zayn feud goes next. Winner: And STILL Intercontinental Champion. Sami Zayn.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match
John Morrison (c) vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jimmy Uso.
According to reports, Miz missed the event due to illness which is why the stipulation was changed, this was the match of the night for me.
Winner: And STILL SmackDown Tag Team Champions. John Morrison and The Miz.

Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
This was a match that you would see on RAW without a commercial break. Good to see Owens pick the win though. Winner: Kevin Owens.

Mojo Rawley defeated R-Truth to become the new 24/7 Champion.

Universal Championship Match
Goldberg (c) vs. Braun Strowman
This match went as long I expected it to. However, I didn't expect a new champion to be crowned here. Roman Reigns, if he was able to compete, would've won the title for sure. So you're telling me they booked Goldberg to win the title vs. "The Fiend" just to lose to Braun Strowman? No offence to Strowman by the way. Ah well, it is what it is. Winner: AND NEW Universal Champion. Braun Strowman.

Boneyard Match
The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles
This match had "final deletion" vibes to it with an appearance from Badass Undertaker, it was so good to watch, like a mini movie. We knew that Gallows and Anderson would get involved, It was a nice way to end night one of WrestleMania though. Winner: The Undertaker. If this was 'Takers last match ever, then what a great way to bow out.

On to Night Two we go!

WrestleMania Night Two Results

Kick off show match
Liv Morgan defeated Natalya

Main Card
NXT Women's Championship Match
Rhea Ripley (c) vs Charlotte Flair
This was a nice back and forth competitive match to start the night. I was, and I'm sure you were, surprised that Charlotte won the title here. The six women ladder match to become number one contender will air on Wednesday on NXT. Let's see who will win that.
Winner: AND NEW NXT Women's Champion. Charlotte Flair.

Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley
A good win here for Aleister Black. He needs to be in the hunt for the WWE title soon, as he is really good in the ring. I've always thought that Bobby Lashley is underrated and would work well as a face character. Winner: Aleister Black.

Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler
Like the match above, this was an easy match to predict, Otis not only got the win but he also his "WrestleMania Moment" with Mandy. I don't think this story is over yet. Winner: Otis.

Last Man Standing Match
Edge vs. Randy Orton
This match went on for a long time, they battled all over the arena and backstage. This one finally ended at the top of a truck with The Rated R Superstar picking up the win after a conchairto to the Viper. Winner: Edge.

Rob Gronkowski defeated Mojo Rawley to win the 24/7 Championship.

RAW Tag Team Championship Match
Street Profits (c) vs. Austin Theory & Angel Garza
No shocks here as Dawkins & Ford remain RAW Tag Team Champions.
After the match, Theory & Garza were beating up the Street Profits until Bianca Belair made the save and her first ever WrestleMania appearance on the main roster. I guess we can now call her the EST of WWE. Winners: And STILL RAW Tag Team Champions. The Street Profits.

Fatal Five Way Match for the SmackDown Women's Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina
Before this match, I thought Bayley & Sasha would be the last two competitors remaining but that wasn't the case, after Sasha was eliminated by Lacey Evans after dissension between Sasha and Bayley. Winner: And Still SmackDown Women's Champion. Bayley (lastly eliminating Lacey Evans with help from Sasha)

Firely Fun House Match
John Cena vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt
I have no idea what I saw, I'm sure you'll agree that it was so weird and surreal and like that Vince puppet said: It was "such good shit" Winner: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.

WWE Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
This reminded me of Goldberg vs. Braun Strowman from night one as it was a very quick match, and as expected it resulted in Drew McIntyre finally and deservedly winning the WWE Championship. Winner: AND NEW WWE Champion. Congratulations to Drew McIntyre.

WrestleMania 36 is in the books, I enjoyed the first night of 'Mania more than night two because of the Boneyard Match. It was great to see Otis and Drew have their "WrestleMania Moments" but it's a shame there wasn't any crowd due to the current situation. I hope you enjoyed reading this review-ish. There will be a RAW NXT and SmackDown (if there is a SmackDown) recap released on Saturday. Until then, be well, stay safe & thanks for reading.
